What is conversion rate?

Conversion rate (CVR) is the percentage of visitors who complete a desired action. It's the most fundamental metric in CRO – the single number that tells you how effectively your page or funnel turns traffic into results.

Formula: Conversion Rate = (Conversions / Visitors) × 100

2.5%–3.5% is typical. Top-performing stores hit 5%+. If you're below 2%, there's significant room for improvement.

SaaS / Lead Gen CVR

Landing pages average 2%–5% for signups. Top performers reach 10%+. The gap usually comes down to offer clarity and friction removal.
